Dr. R.C. Sharma did his undergraduation from Punjab University, M.Sc. (Botany) from B.R. College, Agra, M.Ed. and Ph.D. in Education from Vikram University, Ujjain and ED.D. (Doctorate in Education) from Teachers College, Columbia University, New York, U.S.A.

He has worked with NCERT & UNESCO in the field of education for more than forty years, including 24 years as Senior Advisor in UNESCO, Bangkok & Paris. He advised countries in Asia, Pacific, and Africa on UN-funded education programs, training, curriculum development, and evaluation.

He has received several honors such as the Distinguished Leadership Award by the American Biographical Institute (USA), and entries in Who's Who in International Directory of Distinguished Leadership and Who's Who of India.

He is the author of multiple books including Modern Science Teaching, Source Book on Environmental Education, and Population Education.
